The low down We are the west chapter of the Chicago Area Mountain Bikers (CAMBr) We are a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to building and preserving freeride, freestyle, and technical bicycle riding opportunities. Our mission is to promote responsible trail use, prevent trail closings, maintain unpaved trails, and create new legal offroad opportunities for cycling in the Chicagoland area. We are a chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) and Recreation for Individuals Dedicated to the Environment (RIDE)
More biking Why are there skateparks in almost every town but no bike parks? Because skaters joined together and asked for their own parks. Why do so many skateparks not allow bikes? Because there was no group of bikers around to demand equal access. We are changing that. We are fighting for equal rights to skate parks and letting municipatlities know that we need somewhere to ride.
Doing it We are dedicated to making a difference and getting it done. We're not just talking, we are actively fighting for bikers rights in the Chicagoland area. We are serious about creating new spots and preserving the ones we have.
Who can join? We don't care how you ride your bike, or what type of bike you ride. If you want more riding destinations, then you belong. Freeride mountain bikers, BMX'ers, MTBMX'ers, we're all bike riders and we all need somewhere to ride.
